This is always cool. Hearing songs live before they premiere is always a good feeling experience and truly good moments of memorable entertainment for me. The last time I can recall it happening was Anthony Green's First reunion show with Saosin in Philly. They played every song those guys ever wrote together, and and early version of Illusion & Control.
These guys usually never play more than 12-15 songs during a headliner. If they release care in a few days they'll probably try to squeeze that in. I hope they don't just do the same one as the Underoath off-dates. My hopes/estimate is 1. Midnight Crusade 2. Frozen One 3. Chucky Vs. The Giant Tortoise 4. Summertime Gladness 5. Me And Zoloft 6. On The Run 7. Carl Barker 8. Betrayed By The Game 9. Alex English 10. Death Of A Strawberry/Lemon Merengue Tie 11. Care/Son of Robot 12. We Own The Night 13. Man Of The Year Encore 14. Inspire The Liars
Last time I saw DGD was back in 2015, so I haven't been able to see any of Mothership live yet. I saw them tonight and holy cow they were soooo good. Inspire the Liars was phenomenal! Getting to hear Carl Barker was such a throwback, the crowd went nuts. Midnight Crusade was really well received too. Tilian came in late on the chorus, but he bounced right back in. He sounded amazing on dat bridge. I'm so reaedy for new DGD!!
Yeah, it's definitely different. If someone said "Take one of your slower songs and beef it up" this is what we'd get. Kind of a mix of "Here Comes The Winner" and "Legend". Super fun and funky. Also: Jon copying Tilian's lyrics (let alone, actually saying words that make sense) is a first for them.
This is probably my favorite track since the happiness era... I know its hype talking but man I love that groove section so much
I like 'Son of Robot' slightly more but this is brilliant as usual. The clean guitars sound so fucking nice and I hope there's an abundance of them on this record because that's one thing I missed from the last one. Agree that we need more Jon though but i'm sure there will be several songs he will be lead on anyway.
Had to look up Jon's lyrics and that man really used "we were camping out in Jnco jeans" in the chorus of a song lmao
I was kind of reserved in my initial praise of Care, but holy fuck it’s already grown on me so fast. This song is SO good.
My plan was to hold out but I’m glad I didn’t. Love when mess’s lyrics are reigned in a bit and follow the song.
