just listen to isles and glaciers to hear the difference between johnny and people who actually write melodies
i want nothing but greatness for kurt. those ALLB albums were the best of any DGD-vocalist-related project.
No Place is on another level compared to anything DGD have written, but I’m a huge sucker for conceptually driven albums.
No Place is my favorite, but I’m glad we’re having ALLB discussion haha. For those who didn’t see, Kurt’s gonna he performing at their final show in Sacramento! Somehow there’s gonna be Kurt but no Joe lol...
i think so too. i feel like franzino would have kept going if the core of him, cory, and joe stayed together. but, joe quitting the band was rumored to be and most likely is the cause for the entire breakup. i wonder why though, maybe due to the divisi tour not doing very well?
The band was doomed after Kurt left. I liked divisi, but it’s was definitely lacking behind the Kurt records. They should have gone back to being an instrumental band
The band was doomed when Cory wanted to make Divisi a follow up to Somewhere In the Sierras. They could've kept the Conversation Piece/No Place sound (mostly) intact without Kurt.
Divisi sleys, just in a different way than the previous two. That album is Cory’s lyrical swan song. And I really dig his clean vocals. That album is just very emotional. I have a hard time ranking it against the previous records because it is so different, but I still love it and it was one of my favorite records last year.
Not to sound like a gossip douche but after hearing things about Franzino (via Kurt’s statement) - I wouldn’t be surprised if there was bad blood between him and Joe. I’m sure their Divisi tour didn’t do so well in comparison to before Kurt left. I tried getting into Divisi but I just could not. I think they were doomed as well once Kurt left ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
We definitely need more info on the Royal Coda album I feel like they said "soon" like five years ago.
