    Better than you, sorry

I imagine the bass player that passed away is on this release?

Yes, taking vinyl production delays into consideration, this album would have likely been recorded late last year.

I know audio on picture disks can be so-so but I am over joyed to have gotten that red poker chip variant. Thing looks absurd.

Yup, he's in the video for the lead single "Synergy".

It's such a shame about Tim. For a band that had the crazy 2000s post-hardcore band lineup changes, they've really been a solid group since Tillian joined.

It's also Andrew from Eidola's first release as an official guitarist/vocalist for the band - he has a great voice (he's already heard with harmonies on "Synergy" but also did previous vocal contributions to their previous songs "Evaporate" (Artificial Selection) and "Lyrics Lie"/"Nothing Shameful" (Afterburner).

    Might be Spider-Man...

Yeah, what band ever has had Version 3 be the longest serving (and probably best known) incarnation? This version of DGD has been there for like 10 years now I believe.

I think Tilian tweeted that Andrew is even the lead singer on like four or five tracks. Not that I don't like the guy, but it's weird to have him featured like that when they already have two vocalists.

Anyway, the dude's a beast so I'm sure he's killing it.

I've always felt like that when Wade gets showcased on Alexisonfire vocals.

Three very different vocalists, Alexisonfire is a great example of how to turn it to a great leading asset. Hot Water Music have just employed more vocals from their recent/third singer and I absolutely love it!

Fair enough, no doubt all 3 are good and different vocalists. And I like Wade's other work too. But although 16 years later I can't imagine the songs sung differently now, it took a long time for me to not wonder how much more I'd have liked a few of them if Dallas had sung Wade's parts. I'll also admit I thought more of the You Burn First vocals were Wade until this morning - so what do I know.

None of them are. It's all Gared O'Donnell (RIP) from Planes Mistaken for Stars

Oh yeah, I personally really like Wade's voice, let's say two different verses in "Boiled Frogs" recorded by two totally different vocalists is exactly what makes AOF for me! Dallas is one of the best sounding singers out there, but we do have City and Colour too. Check out "You Burn First" from their release "Death Letter" by the way - it's sang fully by Dallas instead of Gared O'Donnell over there. I do still prefer the original though!

But not to derail from DGD too far haha ;d ;d surely a good example of how to use that well though!
