10 years ago you would've had to pay fans to meet the band. Wow what a difference.

 

I’ll take my experience meeting Will Swan at a small bar in Rochester over a $250 meet and greet lol

 

I’m not big on paid meet and greets either but this thread is overreacting about it.

 

Yeah that’s a lot and includes the tickets. Totally up to the ultra fan who wants that package.

 

Nah, the tickets alone are $40, the poker set is probably worth $15, so it's still $190 + fees for the intangible experience of meeting them.

I'm not doubting there are people who'll pay this much, I'm just shocked that they think their presence is worth this much.

 

Maybe the band doesn’t really want to meet people but management was like no guys, you gotta, so they set a very high price?

 

Their management/marketing team most likely ran an analysis to find the breaking point of what nutso DGD fans would pay. This was the peak price and there are die-hard fans that will pay this.

I'm still a big DGD fan and have been since DBM1, but I've already met them a number of times so I don't need it.

 

holy shit who cares. don’t wanna pay that much, don’t, meeting bands is corny and for kids anyway, but I don’t blame the band for cashing in and tryna eat after losing money for nearly two years straight and probably losing money on their first tour back from the expenses of cancelled shows and sending their drummer to rehab, let them cash in a bit

 

Tilian's also confirmed DGD will play a full-length set on the Coheed tour

 

Well a headlining DGD set is most bands direct support set so that makes sense lol

 

Uhhh, not tryna cancel Tilian or anything but he posted a video hanging out with Blaire White who is uhhhh.... pretty problematic to say the least.

She's a trans youtuber who's entire gimmick is that she makes fun of other trans people, then says "I'm one of the good transexuals, not like these GenZ gender ideologues". Super yikesy stuff.

 

Uhh yeah he is by no means a completely solid dude He called a person of color a “cockroach” on Facebook before which he had to apologize for then make another statement on Reddit about recently.

I don’t know who this Blair White person is but according to Wikipedia they are critical of Black Lives Matter, so Tillian really isn’t doing himself any favors hanging out with this person after the above “cockroach” incident.

 

Looked up Blaine White and yeah… big ol yikes. One of the first pix you see is her throwing up the WP hand sign.

I always think it’s odd when anyone from the LGBTQ community are right wingers. Like.. your own party (sadly) hates you for being you. Why would you want to be embraced in such a “community”??

couldn’t care less who tilian hangs out with tbh and feel like we are in an age where I know way too much about people I don’t give a shit about and the parasocial relationships people attach to musicians is weird, I probably wouldn’t like tilian as a person knowing what I know about him and his associations but I really couldn’t care less about it when it comes to enjoying the band he’s in

 

also the “cockroach” thing was hilariously misrepresented by the dude who called him out for it to where even I thought it was horrible, dude made it sound like tilian said *all* black people are cockroaches which is obviously extremely racist and what I legitimately thought happened, turns out he was just calling this one dude a cockroach and if dude was going after his divorce it’s not hard to fathom why he might say that. acting like that is anything to give a shit about is hilarious and that dude who called him out for it knew what he was doing wording it the way he did




sorry if this seems like brushing anything under the rug but the world is on the brink of war, rapists and abusers walk free every day, im not going to pretend anything about any of this is actually outrage worthy when shit is happening that is so much worse. this barely registers as a blip on the radar of what’s “problematic”
