Yeah. Their last (only) post on instagram mentions that Blue Swan is in transition, so they're waiting to release it until then. Not sure if that means the label is being bought/sold?
If I’m remembering correctly, it seemed like Rise Records was picking up Blue Swan. Doesn’t seem like much has been said lately.
It would have to be them or Angels and Airwaves I would think. Not sure how big At the Drive In was when they came back and dropped their album on Rise.
angels and airwaves is on rise? thats the funniest music related thing Ive heard in a couple minutes.
I suppose calling him “permanent” is completely arbitrary - hes been here and hes contributing as far as guitar goes I just want Will to continue doing his thing unimpeded
I guess my point mostly was that his vocals would be more as a featured vocalist instead of a regular part of the band.
They've had guest guitarists prominently used on every album since Instant Gratification FWIW. The majority of tracks on that album and every one since have had Will and a second guitarist - the second guitarist varying depending on the track. Andrew is imo one of the most talented people who's ever been involved in the band... a phenomenal guitarist and all-around songwriter who was a huge fan of DGD before becoming a touring member. I personally think it's their loss that he won't be contributing in a more permanent capacity, but I'm sure he has his reasons for saying no.
I know theyve been having guest guitars on tracks since then. Its more like a handful of tracks per album not a majority. Its also my understanding that its mostly just for parts except for Bloodsucker. Anyways I do appreciate all that but my point is that Will is such a quirky machine and I just like the idea that he doesnt have to worry about sharing duties more democratically with another guitarist unless he voluntarily wants to - the way hes doing it.
yeah this is my gut feeling too, but missing out on Andrew's contributions live would definitely be a bummer if that *somehow* happened.
Finally getting around to TCS2. It’s so great. Love all the electronic transitions, Andrew does some great supporting vocals on UHWtM, and my oh my I love Summertime Gladness on here. That sax. The set list in general is really perfect.
Just solidifies my opinion Tilian is the best vocalist for them. Kurt will always be special to me either way.
Agreed. Happiness is my favorite of their records for sentimental reasons, but Tilian is a superior vocalist.
they're daydreaming. no way a mid-size venue tour is happening in the US in the fall. just cancel it lol
Why not? Everything I've read recently says 300+ million vaccines available by June at the latest. My Chemical Romance is booking arenas (XCel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN in September) so why can't this happen? I'm seeing many tours popping up this summer/fall. Don't be such a pessimist. There's a light at the end of the tunnel and we're almost there.
Yeah, I think this actually has a good chance of being able to happen. Obviously there's still a lot of factors at play, but I think if the numbers of people that need to get vaccinated do so, it's certainly possible.
i'd love to be wrong but i'm betting mcr is rescheduling too. see y'all back in this thread in sept i guess
