Never really payed much attention to this band but I just checked out a few singles and these songs are fantastic. Gonna start with Afterburners and work my way backwards for the next few weeks.
Anyone have any insight into how this compares to their last albums? Looks like it performed similarly to IG but a little better than ArSe but I could very well be remembering wrong
AS peaked at 42 IG peaked at 32 MS peaked at 13 ArSe peaked at 15 So this is the best charting album in their history
I do like this band but I am surprised as to how popular they actually are. Anyways, good for them on this release.
glad to hear that they were able to chart so high still! imagine if they would have been able to release the physical CDs too!
probably more of a collector's item that comes with preorder packages at this point. i wonder if they were able to count all the preorders or not?
Ditto, came here to say this. Was blown away but how much I enjoyed this record when I wasn't expecting that much from it.
I have no idea what happened to my urban outfitters vinyl variant so I bought it digitally too. I remember around the mothership era they said they hope they can keep growing to keep it a viable life for them. Appreciated the transparency and am glad they’re still on the up and up.
Mindblowing that a band 9 albums into its career, playing a style of music this niché, can manage to still grow its fanbase.
I enjoyed the majority of this album, but I can't help but wish that they'd change up their sound more. I generally appreciate the experiments and minor changes they have from album to album. But It would be interesting to hear them pull off something similar to Happiness with Tilian at the helm. I always thought it would be cool to hear them release a double album with two different sounds on each side or a series of EPs, each with a different sound. Just something to break up the formula of the last 5 or so albums.
I don't consider myself a HUGE fan of this band but i've been listening to them since DTB1 came out and have probably accrued manly hours of listening.....who knows.
Parody Catharsis is such an Instant Gratification leftover this album has little pieces of each album of the Tilian era, probably why a lot of people think it’s one of their best
I’ve been walking around saying “Got a leg up. Know when to sit down, when to get up” for days it’s infected my brain and I have people asking me what it’s from. Free advertising for the band.
What's the better 1-2 punch? Deception > Inspire the Liars, or One In A Million > Parody Catharsis? EDIT: dang you can add Philosopher's King and Strawberry's Wake and ask which is the better 3 song run.
