I'm very okay being the minority on this one haha. Let me have it. I'm happy you all are digging it so much. Just back to Dogleg for me. I think the only thing I really agree with on all your takes is that this is the best Mess record. Wish Tillian was up to the same level.

Another full album listen today and yeah, Three
-> One -> Parody -> Wake is easily one of the best stretches of songs they’ve ever done.

 

Enjoying this a good deal more on my second listen now

Needle Drop guy is a super hack though. All he does is review everything pitchfork etc does and read Wikipedia about genres he doesn’t listen to for the first 5 minutes of his reviews lol. I’m glad he exists because it is total cringe bait.

I can see why a lot of people think that but I generally agree with the points that he does make about most the albums he reviews. The fact he got doxxed for his Tool review and death threats is pretty crazy. (But again, I agreed with him on that review too.) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Plus guy gave PUP an 8/10 so he's good in my book. Although he still needs to review Dogleg.

 

hearing him recite his abridged history of a genre like math rock or shoegaze for example is a comedic nugget. he’s a gem for reasons he doesn’t even know.

 

We go through every single issues with Melon each time he's referenced. At least he's a running joke on here, instead of being called a SJW, a misandrist or accused of virtue signaling when I bring up my problems with him elsewhere
