So youre saying I can do something that costs 35 bucks a month instead of going to college?

+ the cost of the certification exams, but if your college wasn't including that you'd have to do that anyway

Okay, I seriously will do this but I get so overwhelmed with all of the fucking options.

I found a program in Texas that does classes for A+, Network+, Server+, CCNA/CCENT, amongst other certifications, and included the exams (the place was also a proctoring location) for less than college

I'll help you look for an option that'll help you with that like what I described above and see if that's something offered in your area

    Information Technology Technician CCC

This course seems like such a scam, you don't even get an associate's? What's the point of it? You get a CCC - College Credit Certificate whattt

It really depends on what you want to do. If you want to be IT and work on networks and stuff like that do the certification route. If you want to be a developer or something like that you'll probably need the degree.

You might need the degree either way for some companies though

I don't wanna do development but I just feel like a college degree is much more secure than an online monthly thing plus a cert. Ya know?

Yeah i would say so. I know alot of companies won't even talk to you I'd you don't have the degree.

If you want to do it then I would suggest an easier degree like MIS or whatever information systems degree program your college offers. Computer science is not something to get into unless you want to learn development imo

Full disclosure - if you don't get the BS you will be locked out of jobs. It's unfortunately the world we live in where bots will just dismiss applications that don't list a BS.

But the route @Fucking Dustin is suggesting is the other smart path imo - either go full BS or go that route, don't do associate's or whatever that one year course was cause it's like a waste of time.

That's why i'm looking into computer science and that umbrella, it's one of the few things that are promised to grow and stay strong in the future. Until robots take over I guess.

IT won't require a bachelors as long as 1. it's not ridiculously high level IT, 2. your resume is good, and 3. you have some good certifications

  21. Fucking Dustin

Tell me what I missed Supporter

Yeah definitely, either a true BS or go the industry standard way and get legit trade certifications. Anything in between is a waste.

I would rather go the true bs way though. I want something solid and concrete.
