I would agree and would say on psychs even more so.

I like to think these substances increase your rate of thought which would inversely slow your perception of time. Giving you the ability to have more thoughts per instant than the sober fellow. Giving you more opportunities to observe nuanced interactions socially, as well as other interactions with the world/consciousness. This also would explain anxiety attacks on these substances, and anxiety on a whole.

Look at drinking, it lowers your thought rate, inversely increasing your perception of time. Time flies when your drinking, sometimes to the point of blackout. Your inable to observe all the moments inbetween each slowed thought. This is why people have bad judgement while drunk, and also why alcohol is a great social lubricant, because you have no time to second guess.

Language and Tone are also curious phenomena that I won’t get into.
