American Idiot is weird because for some reason there's the f word in American Idiot and Holiday and the r word in Jesus of Suburbia which is jarring; I also kinda hate Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September Ends which I feel bad about hating because it's about his dad dying

yeah for sure, i literally forget and am shocked by both every time. tbh part of why i consider it good is probably mostly nostalgia at this point. i have heard boulevard of broken dreams enough time to last my entire life tho so im with you. dookie rules tho and i feel like as far as defining records for a band go that's not a bad one to have. it's not so lyrically spotty like so many peers of the era

yeah I know, this came up on Punch Up The Jam and Miel apologized but I knew about his sexuality before, it's still jarring though
especially when they play Holiday on the radio

 

I got international superhits when I was 11 and that probably doesn't count since it's like a greatest hits album, but I loved that and those songs over all those eras. The only other ones I had were insomniac, kerplunk, dookie and nimrod

 

wow looking at american idiot era photos and there's nothing about the melodrama of this aesthetic that wouldn't have appealed to me. right on lol

 

I think I like warning out of the few albums I've heard. Haven't heard many

im p sure i had that one. i now own insomniac, dookie, and nimrod but it was just dookie for the longest. kerplunk i have listened to less but i also like that. i think insomniac might be my preference over dookie now

American Idiot was like one of the first albums I was ever into. Dookie is better tho. Warning is a good record as well, always unfortunate when good experimentation is maligned (key word: good)

green day has a p solid discog for a p long time. like even considering they haven't been good in a while, that still leaves a lot of good
