Though Idk what actually happens in the other city threads.

Anyway I'll be in town for at the end of the month for the Babymetal/Dethklok show, anyone wanna try to grab some food or drinks when I'm around?

 

Born and raised in Dallas. I'm literally going out of town the last weekend of the month so I probably won't be able to meet up but have fun. If you need any food recs or anything, let me know.

 

Oh I'm always down for food recs, anything pizza/wings, BBQ or Asian cuisine I'm wanting to try.

was just there last weekend for both metallica shows. if you plan on gus’ fried chicken, then def hit up westlake brewing down the street. great staff and even better brews. serious pizza is a few blocks down too, if you want a slice larger than your face.

 

Serious Pizza is fun for the novelty, but there's much better pizza not too far away

 

I've only been to Dallas once and didn't really get to see that much of it but I'd love to go back at some point

95% of the time I get the Italian beef, but all the sandwiches rule.

If you're short on time you might want to call in your order ahead. Sometimes they get a little busy and aren't that fast at making sandwiches (they're also running a deli counter - but I've never waited more than 20min). Otherwise, just go in, head to the back, order a sandwich and then shop the Italian grocery store that has all sorts of awesome stuff while you wait.

 

Did you wind up going? Also, how was the BabyKlok show?

 

Yes, I ended up getting the roast pork, very good. Will try to grab the beef when I'm in Dallas again in October.


Babyklok show was solid fun, though I have complaints about the soundmix for all three acts and the fact that Dethklok always had some sort of video on screen (which I expected but was kinda hoping they'd do a song or two where I could actually see them playing better), also was hoping both bands would play a bit longer than 60 minutes. But otherwise had a great time and was stoked to see so many people in the venue.

Dethklok played I Ejaculate Fire so I was satisfied from that point forward.

 

Kind of a bummer about Dethklok playing exclusively to screens but still sounds like a pretty solid day.

 

I’m just burnt out on travel and don’t feel like going to ft worth tomorrow for the 1975 show, anyone want tix? I have 4 for free.

 

that's a nice offer, wish I could make it, maybe @meggers @ChaseTx @Fucking Dustin wants them. (not sure who else is here from DFW - or if all these people even still live here)

Yeah not really a fan of The 1975, sorry forgot to respond yesterday/day before

 

I did leave for a while, lived in Austin for a year and San Marcos for 2 years, but I'm back now in south Grand Prairie, bought a house out here so I'm here for a long long time

 

San Marcos is a nice town, minus dealing with the hordes of college kids near the square.

 

It's pretty fine. I didn't like Austin being the main metro around it and didn't like the insane level of busy their one grocery store had, but other than that I did enjoy it quite a bit.

 

Bumping this because I got impromptu tickets for the Knocked Loose show next Sunday.

I asked for food recs last time but do y'all know any places to play board games?

 

I don't play games really so I've never been there but this place is right by me and is always full of people playing...
