Olives. I hate olives. Sometimes people try to be nice and order me a veggie pizza and then I have to dig out all the olives

Hmm. I don't think there is much lol. I used to be a good writer and had teachers in college use my papers as examples for future classes and got nominated for writing camps and stuff. I Also used to dance and I wasn't any good but I got to dance at Blazers games halftime shows which was neat. I never rly have excuses to drop those anecdotes haha

Worst physical pain was a staph infection I got from shaving my armpit. I like couldn't even put my arm down it hurt so bad. The next week I got my wisdom teeth pulled and in comparison the wisdom teeth was nothing.

Best gift maybe was recently I got me and my older sis tickets to see panic at the disco. We both saw them open for the academy is... in 2006 I think and haven't seen them since so it should be fun!

irl probably my dad. He loves music and took me to concerts growing up, which wasn't an easy task cause the nearest venues are 3 hours. I suffered from depression and stuff and he understood it was an outlet for me. When my ex was threatening me and I lived 6 hours away and didn't have a car, my dad drove all the way down to get me to take me back home at like 3am which I'll never forget. He was a teen parent and I kinda feel like it's not super common for teen dad's to stick around let alone be so great.

Christina Aguilera is my celeb one. She has overcome abuse in her past and it reflects in her songs. I listened to her albums like 7 times a day when getting out of a toxic relationship and it gave me a lot of strength. I like how confident and no nonsense she is because I wish I was that assertive and could speak my mind so freely.

I've always said I'd love to do sfx makeup for horror movies. I have never tried doing sfx makeup and with cgi taking over so much idk how sustainable that is if ur name isn't Greg nicotero so oh well lol.

My more realistic dream job right now would probably be something helping high risk families in a meaningful way. Where I'm not stretched so thin i can actually help and be an asset to them in a way I want to

go for your dream job of sfx makeup, become the best in the biz, then start your own company of movie makeup artists that hires exclusively people from high risk communities, even those with no experience

It'd be like the YMCA of makeup!

Which opening something like a YMCA in my town would also be cool. Living in a rural community there are so few resources. Someone in college got all mad once when I mentioned I got a scholarship for being from a rural area, but there is such a lack of opportunity in rural areas that those things need to exist. When I was a teen people just walked around wal mart, hung out at the mini mart, and did drugs I guess lol. We hooligans needed somewhere better to go!

 

Writing is great! Ever considered writing a book?

That’s awesome! My mom is/was a professional make-up artist and she was hired by Busch Gardens one year to do their make up for the Halloween theme (zombies I think that year). Stuff is difficult.

And that’s awesome, too. The older I get, the more I find myself wanting to end up helping others over corporations.

 

@Kiana how did you wind up in your small town, where would be your dream place to live?

 

When I was younger I wrote more, but I don't anymore. I feel like I always had good instincts with writing but as I got older I realized I didn't really have anything I wanted to say. I took creative writing in college and really struggled because my papers were well-written and received good grades, but I never had anything I wanted to write about so they were kinda trite and not fun to write.

That's awesome about your mom! People often ask me to do their makeup but it's so hard doing it on others cause everyone's features are so different! And I get scared of poking them in the eye

Yeah my field of work is never gonna be super lucrative but it's totally sustainable and managble for just me, so I'm okay with never being anywhere near the 6 figures lol

I am originally from southern California and it's where all my extended family lives. When I was 7 my mom decided she wanted us to live somewhere safer so she took me and my sister and moved us to where her dad and best friend lived, which is the town I'm still in. Eventually my dad moved here too. I have hated and resented it here since day one lol. Mostly cause I used to be super close with my extended family and now they may as well be stranger I see every few years.

My dream place is Portland with a beach house on the oregon coast. Sometimes I wanna move back to southern California but the traffic and expensiveness holds me back.

ok so I'm learning a lot about you now lol so you live in a small town? like how small are we talkin?? what did you major in in college?
whats your favorite disney movie do you even like disney idk

 

It's not as small as others. It's 17,000 people. If anything we're like the big city to the other small towns around us lol! But it being rural is hard cause anything interesting is hours away. The town is trying tho. We have a lil festival every year where they are starting to get some high profile musicians here which is fun!

I technically had a double major in sociology and social sciences with a minor in women's studies. I don't rly count the social sciences major tho. I just happened to have enough credits for it lol

I love the lion king and Aladdin! I don't watch a lot of Disney or pixar but whenever i do I love them so I should make more of an effort!

 

This is my dream and it's fantastic.

Tell her it's boring lol. My family doesnt visit from California often but when they do, they always say they would love living here. HOWEVER that is because they're only here for a few days. They don't have to endure it forever so they get to fetishize it in a way. The food won't be as good and u have to order a lot online or travel to shop cause there aren't many stores. There is also a lack of diversity.

I will say if someone wants to retire and truly give up a busy city life I see the appeal. Housing and cost of living is cheaper. But u have to be prepared to give up a lot of conveniences that bigger cities offer

My nephew has so much more faith in my art abilities than me lol. We're making cars out of toilet paper tubes and he said "you forgot my carseat" like I am cool enough to make a carseat out of toilet paper tubes.

Scary movies too. Nightmare on Elm St, Friday the 13th part 3 and halloween in particular!

Pie is my absolute fave dessert. I don't care for most cakes cause they're always piled a mile high with frosting. My sister does make a great lemon raspberry cake with lemon frosting tho. And I feel like I haven't had a truly great cookie. Once you've had a certain kind of cookie you've had them all.

Rhubarb pies are my fave rn. Either regular rhubarb or strawberry.
