@GEM37 what's the best gift you've ever given someone? what's the worst physical pain you've ever felt? if you could be any animal for a day, what animal would you pick?
Best gift. Hmm... For my dad’s 60th birthday I paid a friend of mine to write and perform a song about him. He made a goofy little music video that turned out better than I could’ve hoped for. There was also this girl I had a crush who said she “loved old people.” Since I do in-home caregiving, I recorded a video of a client of mine singing ‘Crappy Birthday’ for her. She loved it! (We only went on a couple dates, though...) Worst physical pain: I’ve passed two kidney stones so far in my life (I will eventually have more) so those were pretty bad. Pro tip: if you vomit while passing one it will make the pain go away for a few minutes! I also almost completely but not totally tore one of my toenails off by accident. Funnily enough, getting the needle in my toe to numb it so they could yank the nail out completely hurt more. Animal: I’m gonna be boring and say a cat. I mean, c’mon. Seems like a good deal to me. Though I’d also probably be down for anything with wings...
Can’t say I am. I do remember them from when I was obsessed with the FBR lineup in high school, I just never got around to listening to them. Nowadays, I always confuse them with Lifetime.
How’s the PNW treatin ya? Think you’re gonna stay there long term now? You’re lying in your death bed. You have enough time to listen to five albums before you pass. Which albums do you listen to and in what order?
Thanks for asking man! Just to be clear - I did live in the PNW before I lived in LA. I'm currently in the same town I lived in when I first moved up here for college in 2008. It's okay. The small town vibe has its advantages, but it's mostly a confirmation that I am a city boy at heart, and how important it is for me to do well in school here so I can make living that way much more sustainable! I'd still like to move back to SoCal for at least a few years, but I could myself retiring somewhere like Seattle or Portland. Otherwise though, it's mostly just been focusing on trying to perform daily self care, really for the first time in my life. It's been slow, but I'm making progress! And I am looking forward to getting to explore more areas in bloom now that the rain is starting to let up a bit! How's Long Beach treating you? As for deathbed albums.... ooof. That's a tall order. I need to get back to you on that one. I can give you a list of songs I wouldn't mind going out on, though!
Won’t answer in full, as it’s not my AMA, but LB is a bizarre and interesting place, but I’m glad I’m here. What are you going to school for again?
@oldjersey you get to book a match between any two important historical figures down to the stipulation and what the winner gets. what does it look like? and no you can't be in the match you fuckin' mark
