I vaguely remember you from Absolute Punk. I remember thinking you were okay, but, ultimately, I’d have to kill you one day.
@Dominick hey Dom I'm happy to see youve also been hoodwinked into doing an AMA what are some books you think everyone should read, fiction or nonfiction? Favorite album of all time? What is one artist that you love that no one seems to talk about? Favorite comedian?
@Dominick When Goku becomes Super Sayian 3, his eyebrows disappear and his facial structure is completely changed. What's up with that?
Fiction: Immortality by Milan Kundera Love In The Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez The Gospel According to Jesus Christ by Jose Saramago The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison Kindred by Octavia Butler Elena Ferrante - All of the Neopolitan novels Non-fiction: The 18th Brumaire of Napoleon Bonaparte by Karl Marx The Civil War in France by Karl Marx State and Revolution: by Vladimir Lenin Black Marxism by Cedric Robinson Women, Race and Class by Angela Davis The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy Policing the Crisis by Stuart Hall Favorite album of all time: Relationship of Command by At The Drive-In Hmm. I feel like Envy, the Japanese screams band, should get more appreciation. Some of the music they created was downright beautiful. Favorite comedian: Dave Chappelle and Hari Kondabolu
Because Saiyans can transform into monkeys when there’s a full moon. The pronounced brow in the Super Saiyan three form is a reference to that aspect of their physiology. I don’t know if they’re drawing upon the power of the great ape form or what.
Only serious questions, Nate. Edit: if for some reason you are able to kill me, then, like Highlander, you get all my power. But what’s left of your hairline disappears.
@Dominick i would imagine being a progressive PoC that is often fully immersed in the shittiness of the current state of things can be rather taxing from time-to-time, if money and time were no object what would you describe as your ideal escapism?
I’d spend my time traveling and reading/writing. And, since money is no object, I’d bring my family along with me.
A bond constituted by a set of practices (tenderness, care, passion, reciprocity, etc.) which are repeated until you die or someone no longer wants to participate.
What did u want to be growing up? Who's your favorite sailor guardian? Do you like any movies pre 90s? If so which? What one book would you recommend to everyone? what's your favorite place to eat/restaurant? Do you like coffee and tea? Which country in Europe would you like to visit the most?
What is your favorite thing about Baltimore? Least favorite? If you could live in any location in any era, is there one place/era that'd stand out to you as a frontrunner, and why? We all have our own thoughts on what happens to our "consciousness" (for lack of better word) after we die, but what would you WANT to happen to your "consciousness" after you die? What is the simplest thing that can happen in your day to make you smile?
A lawyer Mars If I had to choose just one book, it’d be State and Revolution Yeah, I like a lot of pre-90’s films: The Godfather Dog Day Afternoon Lost Boys The Breakfast Club Hollywood Shuffle I’m Gonna Get You Sucks The Spook Who Sat By The Door My favorite restaurant is Sweet 27. They make great vegan cookies. I like coffee. I don’t like tea, unless I’m sick. I guess I’d like to visit the UK or Germany most.
My favorite thing about Baltimore is the radical community. My least favorite thing is the white gentrifiers. I’d love to have lived in California during the height of the black power movement. We get glimpses of it now and then, but at that point on time, the feeling of rebellion was tangible and people were acting with a purpose that managed to transform reality. I guess I would want to live this life I’ve lived over again. I often have dreams where death just leads to the eternal recurrence of the life you just lived. I like that idea because I love my family, my friends and the idea of being able to relive those moments over and over again, despite the pain, would be worth it. When I realize I bought a pack a cigarettes the night before, so I don’t have to stop at the gas station where people play all the lottery numbers.
My god, reading this answer was enough to make me smile hahaha. I relate to that feeling so well (or discovering that you bought two/three packs on a whim so when one ran out another is still full). All excellent answers, thanks for answering em!
