@iCarly Rae Jepsen at my job I deal with the general public and I’m often confronted with repeated behavioral patterns that frustrate me. Most of these issues are exclusive to working in the movie theater industry; do you have any reoccurring things that happen as a receptionist that annoy you/make you lose even more faith in humanity?
@iCarly Rae Jepsen this is gonna be my first full week of unemployment. What should I do with my life??
just generally being yelled at/people being demanding, there aren't any specific questions I can think of the way there are in retail
I'm not the one to ask, I'm very bad at making life decisions and knowing what I want to do, I think whatever you do with your life you'll crush it though
I mean if you can't handle the crushing pressure of making someone else's life altering decisions then like I GUESS
@mattfreaksmeout every mixed variety of fruit flavored candy should have a blue version included agree/disagree
Absolutely. Blue and red are always the best flavors, and there is virtually no candy better than the blue scooby doo fruit snacks.
I'm not comfortable answering this question. No, I've got chorus.fm! Hey now, thanks for the questions Colby, you're an all star.
Your comment is appreciated. If at any time you should change your mind, please feel free to reach out and let me know.
@mattfreaksmeout IIRC, you're from the Chicago area, correct? If so, what's your favorite Chicago bar/restaurant?
@mattfreaksmeout What are some bands that you've gotten into because of their similarities or association with MCS?
Honestly quite a few. I got into the Front Bottoms when I first saw them open for MCS on the Go Tour in 2012. I had never listened to them going in, and I walked out of the show amazed. They're one of my favorites now. Modern Baseball I always felt was the spiritual successor to MCS. When MCS broke up I thought, well at least I still have MoBo. The joke was on me. I was a casual fan of Say Anything before, but when they toured with Motion City and Saves the Day in 2010, that's when I really got into them. Again, they became one of my favorite bands. That show was also my first exposure to Saves, who I love as well. I honestly never quantified before how many of my other favorite bands I discovered directly or indirectly because of them. Music is pretty cool. I also feel I should shout out fellow Minneapolis rockers Bad Bad Hats here. I can't say this with any certainty, but I suspect MCS has been an influence on their music, and they're one of the newer bands I'm most excited for. (Plus I found them from TFB, so transitive property). I really want to say that they were the reason I got into fun. (the only band who has ever challenged MCS for my top spot) after they toured together in 2009, but I didn't actually go to that show so I'd be lying. It was Panic! at the Disco who got me into fun. Wow this got long, good question thank you.
@mattfreaksmeout why does Matt freak you out? I sometimes think your name is Math freaks me out, is that also true?
Yes, that's correct. I wish I was better at really trying different places and all that, but I'm more of a habitual guy. Cheesie's is my go to late night/drunk food/bar place to go to. The Art of Pizza is also a go to. There's a Mediterranean restaurant called Oasis in the back of a jewelry store that I really like. I feel like I always go to the same bars. Basically any random Wrigley bar. Kincade's was a go to especially in college for the $1 beers. I usually just go where my friends take me haha
Well A) I can be weird so I do in fact freak myself out B) like most things in my life, it's a nod to the Motion City Soundtrack song "The Future Freaks Me Out" C) Math actually does not freak me out. I've always been pretty good at it. And I'm an accountant so it'd probably be bad if it did. The name actually originated because my dorky high school self and my friend were messing around on the bus putting my name into different songs, and then I used it as my twitter name. So it actually dates back to something like 2009/2010. Another one we made was "sexualmattchocholate" (Sexual Man Chocolate by Attack Attack! lol did I mention this was in early high school?), but it was like 1 character too long to be my twitter handle. Probably for the best.
I love and miss late night Cheesie's trips. Art of Pizza was also the first deep-dish place I tried when I moved to the city and loved it. It's been passed by Pequod's since, but I still need to try it at least once more before I move out of the area. I generally hate most bars in the Wrigleyville area that aren't the Gman, but to each their own. Haha.
I still haven't had Pequods. And don't get me wrong, I don't love Wrigleyville either. Just always seem to end up there out of convenience haha
While pizza in Chicago is one of the most subjective things ever when it comes to what people prefer, you definitely need to try Pequod's at some point. If you like Art of Pizza, I don't think you'll be disappointed. All of my out of town guests always want to go out in Wrigleyville when they come visit. So I get the convenience aspect entirely. Haha.
