I'm a bit embarrassed but I only really got into Daft Punk earlier this year when I was given a copy of Homework. Sure I'd been exposed to them through Kanye and Tron but never gave them the credit they are due til I made an album review and got to know a little history and just diving into the tracks on Homework. I'm glad they put out some (new)unreleased stuff, I really enjoyed the soundtrack already and 2020 just seems like an appropriate year for more Daft Punk. Looking forward to listening. Here's the fore-mentioned review for anyone interested:
I think we will eventually, aside from the film score they are working on. Another album has to be in the cards eventually. Unrelated note, but I never realized that Human After All was kind of...panned? I think it's decent and would rate it higher than some publications rated it. It does not touch Random Access Memories/Discovery/Homework for me but it's not terrible. I think my ranking goes Discovery>Random Access Memories>Homework>Human After All>Tron Soundtrack
I'm not sure how actually true it is but apparently Thomas has been suffering with some pretty serious ear/hearing problems the last couple years so I'm not sure how much more from them we'll really get
Rumors that they will be special guests for The Weeknd's halftime show... Daft Punk podría estar en el medio tiempo del Super Bowl junto a The Weeknd 2021
"The Weeknd's page confirms this will be the #SBLV halftime song set. Almost confirming Daft Punk and Ariana Grande's appearances on the show. Star-struck"
Don’t think that’s the confirmed setlist for the super bowl. Too many songs and it’s just the exact tracklist for his upcoming greatest hits cd. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Daft Punk show up though.
nothing to see here. The "rumor" is legitimately that people are confusing his Greatest Hits CD tracklist with a setlist. That's all it is. It's very stupid.
sometimes the internet just doesn't use their brains. If anyone thinks a Super Bowl performance is going to close with Acquainted - Wicked Games - The Morning - After Hours then you really don't understand anything about halftime shows
While it's entirely possible, I'm not betting on it. It's the Super Bowl, not Coachella. Only, what? 15% of super bowl watchers will even know who Daft Punk are aside from ONE MORE TIME WE GON CELEBRATE. I would expect Ariana Grande if you are going the guest route. Or Drake, Kendrick, big names.
You’re forgetting how big Get Lucky and RAM was. That song was everywhere at the time it was popular. However, Ariana or Kendrick do seem more likely.
Ah yes, true I did forget how big Get Lucky was. But also... that was as much Pharrell as DP. Anyway, as much as I would love some Daft Punk I am not holding my breath
Looking back I am surprised that this album won at the Grammys over Good Kid, Maad City and Red. I mean I know it's the Grammys and there's no real metric to how they choose things but it's pretty wild to think about.
