Jackson's one of my favorite songs of the last few years. Also echoing the love for XR and Child Bride.

 

Jackson is immense!! wish all their songs were as good as that one, but it's impossible

 

uh they have a lot of songs as good as / better than jackson lol

probably the most consistently great indie rock band of the past decade

 

Listen to every song off of LOSE and then Another Tunguska

 

+ shore points, indiana, definite darkness, wind phoenix, cold spring

 

I'm not saying they don't have (more) good songs, but nothing can touch Jackson

XR is top three on LOSE lol it certainly does not suck

 

Jackson isn't even close to their best song imo, it's not even the best song on LOSE

it is a really great song tho

 

xr is a half assed titus andronicus ripoff without the amition or scope necessary to make it actually listenable. "lol."

 

I think the lyrics on XR just really do it for me. And by do it for me I mean crush me completely for reasons

 

I really love Chambers too

 

100% agreed, the Myspace grave/Faces of Death and learner's permit lines are so real to me

 

XR is great and there isn't a bad song on LOSE. XR is also essential for the Jersey vibe I get from the whole album. Child Bride is in the top tier though for sure
ALSO Jackson is the song that got me into them so i can't really look at that one super objectively but I love it to pieces. and Warning. And Chambers. Did I mention there isn't a bad song on the album??

 

I don't think I'd go that far. It's my least favorite on LOSE but it's certainly not half assed

 

Agreed. XR does it for me because the lyrics are amazing. Beautiful and real references in that whole song. Always look forward to the almost died a thousand times, high is just a feeling behind my eyes part. I'm also from Jersey

That is such a good line, honestly. The lyrics were really immediate for me in that song.

This is really the best possible outcome anyway.

So i've never listened to Titus Andronicus but since they've been name dropped here and are on my list, is Cymbals a good RIYL?

That's fine, i haven't heard anything bad about them really i just am not sure what to expect when I finally give them a listen
