This one never really clicked with me, but I also feel like I haven’t given it enough of a chance.

 

this was my number 3 last year and i still stand by that

 

least favorite album by my (second) favorite band but I still liked it a lot

I'm seeing them at the end of the month also w/ Charles Bissell from the Wrens and I can't contain my excitement haha, pretty sure they're gonna play a few Lenses songs

 

Maybe you’ll hear some new Wrens songs too

 

i'd be happier to hear lots of stuff from the meadowlands tbh

 

Think this is at about the same level as wtam for me, but yeah, this band has never turned in a bad or even less than great album imo. One of the first bands to ever make me consciously care about tones too, Pretty Years has lots of moments like that. Mallwalking is probably the best example of that for me

maybe unpopular and I totally understand why it didn't resonate with some but probably my favorite album of theirs

 

WTAM is probably my favorite album musically (by anyone haha) but lyrics/narrative themes/sonic imagery are hugely important to me so Lenses wins out

 

I think we can reach a consensus that this band is the best and any potential weak spot in their discography is still better than most bands could hope to write

so mad that i didn't know them back then, origami vinyl is so close to where i lived

 

It's "4th of July" and "Mallwalking" for me. Also probably my favorite CEG album. Everything from the production and guitar/synth tones down to the album art has a very distinct and cohesive aesthetic

 

Mallwalking is probably my favourite song of the last few years. Shrine still sounds like something done that would be on in the bronze in Buffy.
