This is a great review! I liked your dissection of "The Weirdness." I thought that was very entertaining and it definitely rings true all over the place in the music world. I also had no idea this was recorded in only 4 days. Thats really impressive and makes me appreciate it even more. Nice work!

 

Just listened to this. Mesmerising, awesome album and I already want to listen again, plus check out the rest of their discography!

 

Yeah, I basically get the hook to one of the songs stuck in my head after listening to the album and have to go for another round. I had the sax hook from Wish stuck in my head during my English midterm today

honestly the end of laramie ("all alone w my strip mall memories") might be my favorite moment on lose, just cuz of how it perfectly mirrors the snapping out of the reverie in the lyrics

After a few listens, this album isn't really hitting me too much, maybe it's just not for me

 

Yeah, not extremely impressed with it although I do like it. Not the same feeling I have with Lose

 

this has grown on me a lot. mallwalking still is one of my favorite songs of the year

 

It's grown by on me a lot. I was meh in it after first listen, but I keep find myself wanting to listen to it. Probably listened 6 or 7 times now and yeah, it's great.

I think the lyrics on this are weaker significantly though. they seem a lot less carefully written, the words often don't fit their melodies and there are a lot of cliche and/or corny parts

 

i think it's my favorite CEG album.

 

it'd be up there with their other three for me if the lyrics were better tbh

also wish fucking rules. top tier CEG song
