Listened to this today (my first CEG album! I'm pretty sure I at least downloaded LOSE but never got around to it) and enjoyed it quite a bit! Very early standouts were probably Dancing Days, 4th of July and Mallwalking. Gonna have to make an effort and check out the ol' back catalogue after I spin this some more.

 

Pretty sure I've woke up with at least one song from this stuck in my head since it dropped.

 

I listened to Why There Are Mountains and thought it was pretty good. It's gonna take a lot more listens to grow on me, but I appreciated and enjoyed what I was listening to.

 

It only took 5 playthroughs to come to this conclusion, but I really love this album

i find i don't really like npr streams quality, but i gave this a cursory listen anyway because i really didn't want to wait. look forward to better quality!

 

took a walk to center city with this today, truly has gotten more enthralling with every listen. well, dancing days, mallwalking, and shine are my favorites

This album is really good. I feel like they should get the kind of traction Japandroids got, imo.

 

absolutely. the 4 albums theyve released are some of the most exciting and engaging in indie rock.

 

This is the first I've heard from them, but definitely plan to go back now, too

 

This band continues to just blow me away with everything they do. Such talented songwriters

 

Saw them play Sunday night. They played almost every song from "Pretty Years"

Also, Joe was wearing a Wrens t-shirt hahaha

 

do you remember what old songs they played?

 

Do the Wrens even have merch you can buy

 

They got BNM seven years ago and have pretty much left behind the critical narrative zeitgeist they'd need for that kind of traction unfortunately. I think their window of opportunity is gone kind of.
