Yeah I just listened to half of it and wasn’t feeling it outside of up and away. I’ll come back to it later.
Took a couple listens but the back half is really good but honestly the whole thing is good. No low points really. Love the bridge in Avalanche of our Demise that calls back to the instrumental transition from the previous song. All the singles still great. Consumers is a stand out for me, What Do We Do Now is a great follow up, great closer. Great album!
I was bummed to miss them in Chicago this weekend for Riot but they’re coming back in November at a tiny classic venue. Scooped tix!
My hope with “happiness is in the devouring” being on the tour poster means they’ll play Consumers. That song rips so hard. Friendly reminder that this album is fantastic.
I saw them in Jersey City last night. They sound awesome. I hope to look half as good as Tim at 50 years old.
I’ve been scoping some setlists for this tour and they’re doing an admirable job of mixing it up every night. Can’t wait for the Chicago show next Saturday!
Going to see these guys in back to back shows starting tonight in Chicago and tomorrow in Evanston. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a band 2 nights in a row but they’re good about mixing up set lists and I’m pumped as hell.
What a treat to see this band 2 nights in a row. This was my sixth and seventh time seeing them live and I find it so admirable that Tim plays every show like it’ll be his last. Dude truly leaves it all on the stage every night. While they maybe carried over 6-7 songs between the 2 sets, tonight’s show in Evanston was my favorite of the two. Got 3 of my favorites: It’s Gonna Hurt (so massive live), A Gentleman Caller to close, and Bad Sects (one of my favorite Cursive tunes and one I’d never seen live before).
I had no idea about the Evanston show until I saw this post and I immediately bought tickets so thank you for that! The show was awesome, loved them opening with Consumers, my favorite from the new album. Dorothy at Forty, Avalanche, It’s Gonna Hurt, Bad Sects, From The Hips were all also so great live.
Concur the love for Consumers! They played it for the first time ever the night before at Empty Bottle. Hope it stays because it rules.
