What a great return, really loving the tone in comparison to the eighth season, which seemed a little less clever a lot of the time.

Edit: okay I hadn’t finished the episode yet. This got pretty over the top.. pretty weak ending.

Overall not a weak episode. Some weak parts though yeah

Definitely started slow. Felt a bit bloated with a 40 minute runtime.

I did think it started slow and that the ending was a bit outlandish (though I'm certainly curious to see where they go from there) but there was a lot of good stuff in there and I'm really, really glad to have the show back.

  9. I don't know how you all think this started slow. The door equation, the PTSD, the constipation, all back to back to back scenes that were amazing

Pretty funny episode but not amazing... but thats okay. Its hard to return as strong after such a long break. This show thrives when its in the swing of things and doesnt require exposition. Im so happy we have a full season and not just an episode or two

Not the best episode, but still very enjoyable. Lots of classic LD in there. I'm just so glad it's back.

I thought it was a touch slow/weak at the beginning, but I thought the episode was pretty good overall. It really gained momentum towards the middle and the end. I bet next week will be much better.

Idk if this has been addressed already but is season 9 going to be the last season of Curb?

I'm not sure they ever said. I think the door will always be open for Larry if he wants to do more in the future.

I think Larry has hinted at doing more after this, but he hasn't really confirmed anything. I'm betting on Season 10 being the final season, but that's purely speculative.

  19. from what i understand, HBO basically gave LD an open contract to do whatever whenever.

He also told USA Today that he'll start thinking about writing season 10 and it won't take 6 years this time.

I always viewed this show as Larry's personal outlet and HBO will take whatever they can get so he basically does whatever he wants to do, similar with Louie

Nasim Pedrad's acting in that last ep was pretty awful

that's what I wanted to hear. I'm excited for Larry to hit his stride which I think may take another episode or two. I thought the last episode was good but not nearly as good as curb at it's best but that's understandable. I remember eating an edible at a party and watching the episode where he told the nurse he had a hamster inside of him when
I got home. I was legitimately belly laughing that entire episode

How critical of acting can we be of a show that is mostly improvised though?

I mean she's a trained improv performer, right? It just felt very over the top and unnatural
