ok 11 definitely picked up towards the end. the shoes from the Holocaust museum was classic Curb, had me absolutely rolling. time for the finale
just polished this off, pretty great finale and last season on the whole. I do wish they'd cut back on some of the old episode clips in favour of giving Cheryl and Lewis more to do in that episode but oh well. kinda surprised Vaughn didn't show up at all, Freddy pretty much felt like a main character the past few seasons
I am working my way through the final season. It is mostly good, but "The Gettysburg Address" was very bad
i've been watching this for the first time over the past few months. usually do an episode a day on my lunch break. just finished s11. is the general consensus that there was a noticeable dip in quality when the show returned after hiatus?
I started watching curb around 2008, I think. Most of the old seasons I haven’t watched since then. I forgot what happens in most of them.
IMO the real dropoff wasn't post hiatus, but S11. If there's any dropoff from 8 to 9 it's small, and 9-10 have some of my faves in the series. But I'm not sure I'll revisit 11 or 12 much at all.
I think I’ve listened to every available podcast with Larry as a guest.. they were pretty much all the same, but fuck I wish he did more. His story about how he dodged having to serve in Vietnam is pure Curb material.
Started this from the beginning the other night and those first three episodes are all-timers. It might be like my 5th or 6th time watching through lol (I rewatched a few times during the hiatus). It’s amazing how good this is right out the gate. Pure comedy magic happening in every argument Larry has.
My wife despises that I’m on my annual rewatch . This show gets me through the deepest, darkest days of winter.
Doing a slow rewatch alongside the Curb Pods with Jeff and Susie. Jeff has been kind of annoying but Susie has been a delight and sometimes they have guests whether it was guest appearances from the eps or Larry or Cheryl themselves.
to be fair, i’m not trying to cape for jeff garlin lol, but speaking over cohosts seems pretty much baked into the formula of hosting a podcast
Nah I get you. Maybe it’s more jarring because Susie doesn’t seem to do it as much back to him. She’s realllll patient lol.
Good podcasters know how/when to interject appropriately, or at least have a decent producer to edit it and make it listenable. Not to hate on Jeff, but I used to listen to his podcast "In Conversation With..." and it was just him talking over everyone there too.
