Not exactly unexpected but so fucking sad, he was probably my favorite character in the show. His prime is before my time so I really only had exposure to him through Curb but from what I can tell he was massively influential on modern comedy, aside from just being a hilarious guy
Fuck. He was one of the best parts of the show. Truly loved every moment he was on screen. RIP to a legend.
Already going through hell and yes this was expected but I was hoping he’d at least be around to see the finale and completion of the show, what awful news. RIP
Besides Curb I only knew him from Robinhood Men in Tights but I will always recommend one watch that.
Richard has always been the Curb highlight for me. Phenomenal timing and impeccable delivery on pretty much everything that came out of his mouth. He’ll be missed for sure!
So many amazing moments. The ones that come to the top of mind are: - "Call me by sundown." - Richard getting to every lunch with Larry half an hour early - The suicide call conversation / "She gives to charity." - The self-portrait - The dead bird conversation with Larry - Larry giving Richard shit about wanting to be a dad - "You're 200 years old..." So many more. What a talent, excellent excellent timing and just a great comedic demeanor.
