The next season will start and he’ll be talking about how Young Larry got cancelled and there’ll be a new season-long arc
Gotta catch that at some point. His absence from the show is definitely felt, same with Richard Lewis. That one scene we got with him this season was not nearly enough
I don't know that this show will ever have a planned "Series Finale", tbh. I feel like Larry is always going to leave the door open to more and then one time he's just going to decide not to come back to it.
The seasons where he ended up with the Blacks or the one where he moved to Paris with Leon felt like they could have been proper finales.
There were a few finales that felt like the end. I’m just glad they keep making more. Whenever and however they choose to end it, I’m not sure it’ll even matter to me. Most likely my favorite comedy show of all time.
the finale would have to be like Conan's idea for a Simpsons finale where Marge calls Homer an incompetent buffoon and takes the kids, but it's Susie killing Jeff and Larry and successfully pleading insanity and then Leon gets Larry's house
I think that the Michael J. Fox episode, while great, would not have functioned well as a series finale. And yet for several years we all had to accept that it may have been. I think another situation like that is most likely, only next time it happens Larry won't come back after six years.
