Ever since the Me Too story ended this season has just been firing on all cylinders, the restaurant story was fantastic. I laughed out loud when Kroll was like "you know there are other restaurants around here" because I was just thinking that lol
Loved this episode. It also had some touches that reminded me of The League (the good seasons), that I'm sure Jeff Schaffer brought to the table - between Nick Kroll and the disappointment of the Jets
Richard, Jeff and the other guy totally brought Larry into the ugly section. Now, if they had gone with Ted, because it doesnt matter who Ted is in a group with, the entire group would automatically be in the attractive section. If a team is that disappointing, why stay a fan? I never understood the loyalty to sports teams, especially bad ones. (Entire family, except me, are huge Islanders fans...)
Yeah the turtle bit got me. Such an LD moment of comparing a dead turtle to a cherished loved one lol.
I definitely think this is the funniest show on television. Has there ever really been a bad season? Some people criticize the last one but I thought that was also great.
Finally watched episode 7 and it was easily the best of the season. "is anyone here a doctor?" "no but my dad is!"
The only shows that compare in terms of laughs are Seinfeld, Nathan for You and Trailer Park Boys, but none of those are airing currently so this is definitely the funniest show on TV right now.
I'd add Party Down to the list of all time great comedy shows. Seasons 1-7 of TPB are classic but the quality really dipped when they continued on Netflix.
It's Always Sunny also does it for me. Some episodes make me cry how hard I've laughed. Haven't watched all of Seinfeld though I've enjoyed every episode I've seen. TPB is good too, but I think a little more niche than the other shows mentioned. Also finding out the actor of Bubbles is a horrible person kinda tainted it for me. I recently started Nathan For You and the first episode was very promising. Excited to keep going with it. Never heard of Party Down.
Yeah, TPB isn't what it used to be, but I still enjoy most of it. Party Down is a great choice. I almost included Arrested Development too, but I think I appreciate the writing on AD more than it just providing pure laughs.
Didn't even realize this hasn't happened yet this season. Last time was probably with Lin-Manuel last season though
