this sexual harassment storyline is some boomer nonsense Larry using the lawyer's toilet and telling Jon Daly that mailman isn't like a real job was much better
Weird, I thought this one felt a lot more like the older seasons than last week's did, I laughed a lot The story with Susie's painting was great
idk I disagree...the premiere felt to me like they were trying to get back into the swing of things but certain moments just felt a bit forced to me. still enjoyed both a lot tho
I'm just happy to have LD back on my TV weekly. Hate that we're already 1/5 of the way through the season.
Def agree with this, that whole part was trash. Kind of worrying if that’s gonna be the dominant arc the entire season
One of the better kind of Curb episodes. The show was always best when Larry took selfish but understandable positions (wanting the private bathroom, lying about a lost letter) only for it to build to more and more ludicrous situations. However, the sexual harassment storyline is troubling. The bit about recording a verbal commitment feels like the kind of thing far-right misogynists would joke about.
Yeah idk about this sexual harassment bit. The recording also was very “hey this whole consent thing has gone too far let’s make a joke about it”.
I didn't really have a problem with that bit specifically, I liked how they actually made Larry respectful during it. I could easily see them taking this joke way too far though and I really hope they don't
Oh the one hand, TV Larry would absolutely behave this way in this situation so it doesn’t come across as malicious. On the other hand, Real Larry maybe shouldn’t have written him into that situation.
I feel like it'll be hard to judge this completely until we see how it resolves. It's not like Curb Larry is usually doing things Real Larry thinks are smart or good, but also it wouldn't really surprise me if this was his genuine feelings about metoo and whatever
yeah, I think maybe we should all just watch the show and see how it all plays out before rushing to judgment
I also don't think this season has started as strong as last season did. I'm still enjoying it but the first two last time were better.
I really liked this last episode. Sexual harassment / consent recording stuff was weird, but not off-brand for the show to do something edgy like that. I hope they keep it to a minimum in the later episodes. I loved Susie in this episode.
3rd episode is "out there" I assume it's up on HBONow/Go or something. May be out early since it would otherwise be competing with the Super Bowl.
This one had me cracking up through the whole thing. Love it when they up the ridiculousness. Was this the first one Cheryl Hines directed?
Honestly, I liked this episode but I think a big issue I have with this season is that Larry isn't really socially inept in a relatable way this year, he seems a lot more aggressive/intentionally mean-spirited than stumbling into uncomfortable situations. I did still laugh a lot though
