Super Dave Osbourne was on Cousin Sal's Ringer podcast with Simmons. Starts about 34 minutes in, they talk some Curb. Guys it is the funniest god damn thing I have ever listened to. Super Dave is hilarious, I highly recommend any Curb fan to give it a listen.
I finally finished season 9 yesterday. As a whole, season 9 isn’t one of my favorites, but I thought the second half of the season was much stronger than the first half and really felt like classic Curb.
I finally watched a lot of last season the other day and it kind of took two episodes to ease in but it was pretty pretty good. Glad it's coming back.
I'd only seen bits and pieces of the show before, so I'm watching from the beginning. Hopefully I can find the later seasons somewhere since I think Amazon only has 1-4.
Watching this for the first time, just finished the first season. Everything that happens to him is so hilariously absurd but I've never related to a character more. Not sure if that's bad or not
I started watching the first season of this show, and outside of a few laughs which were mostly from how relatable I find some of his social ineptitude, I find that most it falls flat for me, that it can be a little too cynical at times, and that it feels irritatingly insular. No wonder it’s my parents’ favorite show.
I don’t think liking a Seinfeld-related project makes my parents cool. That’d make for far too many cool old, white people.
I’m not in here to start an argument, but I do wonder if the show (particularly the first season) holds up for the people in here. Yes, Larry is supposed to be portrayed as wealthy and out of touch, yet at times I find the show itself lacking an awareness of reality to really make that work.
The first three seasons are the best part of the show. It was much more grounded, and since then has strayed from that realism too much.
