Really excited for this one! Prerelease tracks have been excellent. Their last album still holds up as well as it did when it came out! One of my favs from that era.
Stoked for this! “Books . . .” is one of my favorites of the year so far. It’s like early-00’s post-hardcore brought 20 years into the future.
Top 3 band of all time for me, was obsessed before they called it a day back in 2010, which intensified the obsession I think. 13 years waiting for this, 30 years old now and was like a kid on Xmas at midnight. Can't believe it's finally here!! Does not disappoint, so many layers and the attention to detail is fuckin wild. Was not expecting Skells at all, what a gorgeous closer. Impatiently waiting for the LP to arrive now. CiS, Fireworks AND Gaslight records out in a single year. Who'd have thought. Wild.
Superyacht ecopark, we can build you, house / trance, and skells are the stand outs for me. Superyacht ecopark is THE one though.
Very similar, feels like the missing step between ... Is Dead and IWTTDYTS to me. The latter being my personal favorite, and this being right behind.
They were always a band I heard about/saw the name everywhere but no one I knew had the files for them. With this new album now I have a reason to go back and listen to everything else.
So happy to see the positive and widespread reactions to this album. I feel like I've been on my own little CiS fan island forever. Could never get my IRL friends into them despite me being obsessed with the band. I feel like when IWTTDYTS came out, the lyrical content was exactly what I had going on in my own life (esp. Drugwolf, I Am Everything I Am Not, Young), and all these years later, this album nailed it again. More people need to know this band, lol.
lyrics are immediately connecting with me, can’t remember an album vibing like this since Drug Church’s Cheer
Skells is a huge standout to me. The album overall is sick and probably what some fans wanted back in 2010. I didn't expect how aggressive it would be, kind of expected more experimentation (like on Skells), but this is still a top-form CiS album.
Great album doesnt get as weird as I Was Trying but I can tell I'll be coming back to it for many years just like how I still love hearing I Was Trying.
This is pretty solid, a really great late-career album. Definitely feels like they made it because they wanted to, and had it in them, not because they felt like they needed to.
