I can't imagine this thread getting too popular, but I know there's quite a few Brits and Europeans on here, so you never know. Thought a place to discuss all forms of Cricket (Test, ODI, T20, County etc.) would be appreciated. Anyone been watching the recent England games?
Man, just one post? Thought there may be a few more Brits that follow cricket than this. This pitch is a beast. If Root can get a 5 for, you know it's one of the spinners!
I thought there'd be a few Englishmen or even Americans with Indian/ Pakistani descent that would be into it, but apparently not haha! This whole morning has been insane. I've got literally no work done, been glued to it the whole time. Hard to believe Root didn't bring himself on yesterday like. He's been great with the ball the last few tests.
I spent like an hour two days ago learning how cricket worked (and now I feel like I understand at least the basics!!!) but I like this meme and all the reactions
I was looking for this thread the other day as thought it might get some activity with the World Cup starting - no better time for it now! Possibly the biggest upset in cricket history? And the start of a new rivalry?
3.1 overs in the end. And really, they could have finished it off sooner. Some insane hits from Butler at the end there.
Cricket really doesn't help itself sometimes. Teams being knocked out of the World Cup due to bad luck with the weather when other teams have had clear schedules, no chance to have their destiny in their own hands. Hosting a tournament during rainy season as well. No reason not to have reserve days or take more proactive action when bad weather is forecast. Doesn't change the fact that Mott has to go (and Buttler possibly stripped of the captaincy), but feels intensely unfair when other teams in the ground benefit from a clear schedule.
I wouldn't be so sure. India seems very beatable. Though, it would please me immensely if they were to get knocked out. No mention of the absolute demolition job England did on the USA either - that'll kill cricket off in the country for another generation haha.
From being on the verge of being knocked out, England have just chosen violence against any Associate Nation they've come up against. Brutal stuff
You can say that again. Today is gutting, an all time great. Glad I got to see him in person last year.
