I finally got to this and it's fucking outstanding. Further Than Forever in particular is a masterpiece but the whole album is great. I absolutely can't believe this band is still flying so far under the radar, they are incredible and never stop pushing the envelope. I NEED them to do an American tour
Lot of favorite moments on this album right now but I think my current one is the outro at the end of the album. "I'll see you in hell, if I don't see you before I know that our love is cursed, and I can't find a cure"
A few bits of Alkaline Trio talk in this interview, but hilarious little tidbit that starts roughly around the 27 minute mark where he's talking about the start of the band and he tells a story about trying to make ends meet and ties it back to Alkaline Trio because he ended up having Dan Andriano stay at the house he was staying at lol. Begging for a Trio/Creeper US tour this summer plz.
They just got announced as a second stage headliner for the Saturday of 2000 Trees. Only one announcement in and I cannot wait.
It's truly insane how long it's been since they've been to the states. And also how terrible of support slots they had while they were here. (Waterparks and Neck Deep)
Alk3/Creeper just makes so much sense and the band obviously worships them, I don't know how they haven't been trying to contact Alkaline Trio's manager or whatever to try and set something up for next summer.
The obvious choices are Alk3 and AFI Bayside, The Used, Senses Fail, Silverstein etc all would be cool too though
I suspect the issue with a US tour is it's expensive for the level of venue they could currently play, though I don't doubt Spinefarm are going to do their best to help out. COVID really put the brakes on this band just because of the timing right around the release of Sex, Death.
Yeah what awful timing that must of have been. Especially with Born Cold and Cyanide being such jams as singles. I coulda seen Cyanide getting some play over here on the radio.
Darcia the band's "vampire familiar" has been doing a little introductory skit at their most recent shows and that was part of it Green Day were meant to be playing Electric Ballroom yesterday (Creeper were playing O2 Shepherd's Bush at the same time) but cancelled last minute due to sickness
They’re opening for Black Veil Brides, which is super sad, since I want to see them but definitely not BVB
Maybe they can stick around the US for the summer and find another tour to hop on for the rest of summer
Yeah that will definitely be a good tour for them to gain fans on but not the fans I want to be around lol
That's a good pairing for Creeper to get some US support but it's fucking funny that Black Veil Brides would take out what is essentially a better version of their schtick as main support
I thought that Creeper would end up being main support for Trinity of Terror 4 (BVB, Motionless in White, INK). Atreyu was the opener for 3 and they were really out of place with the horror show lol.
I hate the idea of having to see them with BVB, but I do agree that this is going to do wonders for them over here. (Good or bad, because BVB fans seem insufferable)
