    Let’s goooooo

I was ready for a new era, but I’ll take another spooky album. And song next Friday?!

that lines up with the timing from Sanguivore iirc…think we got Cry To Heaven sometime in May and the album came out October 13th

This is so exciting!! I'm assuming they wanted to stick with this sound/aesthetic for a while so made it a direct sequel since they usually entirely change everything up between albums

I know I say this a lot but I hope this tour FINALLY brings them to headliners in America

I liked Sanguivore, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t selfishly hoping this band would return to the faster/heavier kind of stuff we heard on Eternity

More cuts like "Thorns of Love" would be right up my street.

Really leaning into the 80s arena rock (presumably) in Alkaline Trio aesthetics, can't wait

Like how was "Headstones" not a song on Good Mourning

I just listened. Like it a lot musically and the chorus is cool, but I don’t know if I love Will’s vocals in the verses lol

That chorus is massive. God, I love this band.

Impressive how much they can change snd still feel cohesive. I love it. Crazy to think this is the same band who wrote VCR lol.

OOoo interesting. I am...split on this. I liked the more goth 80s vibe of Cry To Heaven more than this sound, which realllllllllly leans into the kinda dirty hair metal sound of like late 80s. Will's verse vocals lean more to the goth side but yeah.

Lyrics also aren't grabbing me as much here. But again I think that goes back to the style---not like the slick, sexy vampire thing on Cry to Heaven or Teenage Sacrifice.

Idk....I'm excited for the album but much like Ghost and Skeleta, I hope it doesn't all have this distinct 80s hair metal sound to it. I like the gothy organs/synths more haha

we missed the trees glow gold beneath.

this made me fall down a bit of a rabbit hole for this band that i haven't had in a while. might run the discog this weekend.

I don't immediately love it like Cry to Heaven but it's a good sign of what it will do the same as the first album and what it will do differently.

Kerrang interview that calls it the fastest song on the record... hmm that's one to keep an eye on. Part of what I liked about Sanguivore was the return to punk-y songs like Chapel Gates and Sacred Blasphemy.

Fastest song on the album does not bode well for me lol

This is a super weird song but I really like it, the chorus gets better and better the more you hear it
