Well. That was great. Nervus were fantastic but they start ten minutes after doors. Also they are giving out free CD's after the show so stop at the merch for sure. Microwave were ridiculously good. They properly converted me last night and Lighters and Stovall were particularly amazing. Can't Swim were great, although they grew into their set. Strangers in particular got a massive pit going and it seems they have some momentum now. Creeper. Such a great setlist, and different to the Glasgow one I saw. Opening with an acted out part involved James Scythe was cool, and going from Black Rain into My Winona was great. Honemoon Suite was great and we actually got Suzanne unlike Glasgow. The piano intro to Hiding With Boys was really cool and the female singalong to Crickets was really nice. Having Hannah and Will both do lead vocals and run about on Darling was so good. A late run of Allergies, Lie Awake and Astral Projection was ridiculous too. Yeah, go see this tour.
I hate how early I'm going to have to get there to see Nervus ugh. I can't remember the last time I got to a gig before doors lol.
I missed the first half of their set but I saw 2 of the 3 songs I was really wanting to see. They seemed to win people over too. Room was only like 2/5 full though because of how early it was.
Yeah it's my main dislike of going to bigger venues. Like the whole point of these bands opening is to expose them to new audiences, but then the venues put them onstage when there's hardly anyone in the venue.
Glad you had a good time Sam, I'm not going to read the spoiler as I'm looking foward to not knowing a creeper setlist for once. Shame about Nervus being on so early, pretty certain I'm going to miss them in London on Thursday. I'll definitley try to get in early for them on Sunday in Southampton though.
That's a real shitter for them, I hate it when venues do that to bands. I'm sick today so I'm missing the gig anyways which sucks, I'm hoping to have recovered for the Southampton gig on Sunday, I'll be gutted if I miss that too.
I got to the venue 20 minutes before doors and didn't get in until quarter past (luckily I only missed like 10 minutes). Always a bummer.
To be honest, this is just the sort of thing that tends to happen when you bring three support bands with you.
They could open the doors half an hour earlier. There's absolutely no reason for a band to be on 10 minutes after doors.
Everything about the gig in London tonight was great - managed to catch Nervus, who are definitely one I'd like to see more of, and Creeper's whole stage stuff and setlist was just so good. Play with the confidence and presence of a band far more experienced then they are, with a roster of songs that are all just huge and incredibly fun live despite only being on their debut full length album. Crowd was lovely too. Tempted to do Southampton too now!
Yeah they were incredible. Watching this band grow over the last 3 years might be the best thing I've ever experienced.
Didn't realize there was such a big thread for these guys! Heard some of their songs recently and have been checking out the full album, I really dig the sound they're going for. I hope they get bigger in the States, I feel like there's definitely an audience for this band here.
I suspect this band will be bigger in the states on the next record. They're absolutely blowing up here and I can't imagine it not transferring.
It hasn’t transferred yet, unfortunately. We’re still getting super small crowds in the Midwest - hoping that changes with the Neck Deep tour.
