This songs alright. Songs are a big step down from the first album though. Eternity, In Your Arms sounded so huge, diverse yet cohesive. These songs are honestly quite boring and don't fit together at all in my opinion. I get taking the Alt Rock route, but this change in direction is super dissappointing for a band I had high hopes for. Don't get the album rollout at all either. They've delayed it twice due to Covid supposedly yet they've release 6 songs already. By the time it comes out people aren't going to be as excited as they would have been if it just came out in May. Disappear for a year to announce just to comeback and announce album that isn't going to be out for 7-8 months. Weird stuff and an easy way to ruin any momentum you had. Anyone in the UK, does this band still have hype after all of this?
honestly they're not THAT big here in the first place. very much a cult sort of band I would say, so I'm not sure this campaign is gonna do big things for them.
What? This is such an Orville Peck rip. Sounds a lot like Turn To Hate. Edit: it is in the same key as Turn To Hate, starts with the same chord progression and the same vocal line.
I really love this band, old songs and new, and I do enjoy all of these singles but I agree with a trash album rollout. I was so excited for them to come back and when they released Born Cold with a few album details, that was the perfect time to do what they needed, in my opinion. Should have kept the original release and they could have followed it with this podcast thing they're doing to hammer home the concept of the album.
They're a main stage band at festivals like Download and Reading, and I think they still will be after this, but I don't think these singles have elevated them, more just solidified roughly where they are.
