Q&A time

Whats the meaning behind the album title?

 

It kind of an extended metaphor in the lyrics of the title track, so I won't spoil it too much. But that song is about moving in with my girlfriend (now wife) after graduating from college.

 

Nice, man! I dig the new song too. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album.

never heard of this Craig Manning guy but ive heard he's heavily influenced by Thriller and A Rush Of Blood To The Head

 

Awww yeah. Lots of blood rushing to the head on this album. And pet sounds! (Seriously, I think you can faintly hear one of my cats meowing in the background somewhere.)

I don't know how to compare myself to other artists, haha. Maybe @Chase Tremaine can help, since he's heard the record.

 

I'd say it's a mix between alt-country and simple singer-songwriter based folk music.

Honestly, I hear some very early JV in the single. Give you a very home-y feeling.

 

Honestly, there are so many influences here that it's hard to classify. Like, "Money Down" is definitely a country song, but there's also a Motown-inspired track, a song inspired by Chase This Light-era Jimmy Eat World, and a big arena rock ballad. And as with anything I do, there's a lot of Springsteen and Butch Walker in there too.
