This album is easily in my top 5 2018 albums and that was not an easy task narrowing down all the fantastic records that were released just that spring. Courtney speaks to my soul in such a nourishing way I absolutely love her music.
Is that a good venue? Trying to decide between that and the Detroit show which is at a venue I don’t really care for
It’s pretty nice although it’s all assigned seats. It’s in the loop (175 N State) so you may have some trouble with parking. Chicago is on a Wednesday and Detroit is on a Friday though if that influences your decision.
I personally love the Chicago Theater. As long as you don't mind the assigned seating, it's a beautiful venue. You can use Spot Hero to park in a nearby garage for about $20. I'm not sure if you've been to that Detroit venue, but I had an AWFUL experience the one time I went there. I was coming from work and got there right around when it started, and there was literally nowhere for me to be in the venue. It's also a seated venue (except a small pit area) but it's all GA still, and I couldn't get in the pit, couldn't find a seat, and got yelled at by staff anywhere I tried to stand. But it was a fully sold out (at least I think) show, so I'm sure it's not nearly as bad if you get there a little earlier
She also updated her Spotify playlist "tell me what you're listening to". On that playlist, there's a snippet of a song from an artist called Oliver Paul, that is clearly Courtney, called All Eyes On The Pavement. Oliver Paul obviously being a character from Elevator Operator. Seems like that might be the first single, and it might be closer than we think.
When you play the clip on Spotify, there a visual of Courtney standing in front of a banner that says “Things Take Time,” which was also the presale code for the tour. I’d imagine that’s the name of the new record.
