Song is great for those that actually came to listen to it.

 

They seem to be regressing as a band? The first two singles musically and lyrically are lacking the complexity that "Tragedy Will Find Us" had.

 

You think so? I was actually happy to hear a bit of a different take. I felt like on TWFU Jesse was growing a bit weary of finding new melodies and signature changes that worked.

I don't know how committed to this opinion I am yet but the new tracks seem more streamlined. Not like in a mainstream way but a simple way. I've still been jamming "Boquet" at the gym but I find myself thinking these new tracks sound more like between hell and home than tragedy.

I really dug the guitar work on TWFU it didn't seem like he was getting tired to me.

 

My favorite from them still is TCWCU and I like the latter two equally. I genuinely didn't think we'd hear leads at all without Jesse so I might be just happy to know they didn't give up the aggression and became dependent on breakdowns like so many other bands.

 

Better lyricism than Blink for sure.

 

I totally agree with this, I'm still stoked to hear the rest of the album.

Interesting opinion, because I felt that TWFU was lacking in the songwriting and technicality and I that these two singles are showing that's coming back on this record. Don't get me wrong, I love TWFU, but I think this record is going to top them all for me.

 

For me these guys are killin' it. Super fresh but not far off from what they were doing before. For heavy music these days counterparts and ETID are putting out the best quality.

 

So I listened to the two new tracks a bunch of times since yesterday and I dig them as much as anything I like from these guys now. I was too quick to judge. The guitar on "No Servant of Mine" is on the level of my favorite tracks on TWFU.

 

I liked Bouquet more, and Thieves which they've been playing live sounds excellent.

 

Can someone explain the whole 1975 thing at the beginning of this thread? Did I miss something?
