New York Transit Queen is wild, I have no idea what to expect from this album

 

Completely passed me by that this came out, maybe because no one bumped this thread!!!

Listening now, it's pretty out there, I like it but definitely will need more listens to dig in

 

this is the best album of the year

 

As an album this is far too uneven for my tastes. Earthlings is the worst thing she has ever done, Erasure isn't that great... but Put It Down, WOW. Peach Velvet, Red Horse a few others... really good. I appreciate albums that are super diverse and try a bunch of things, but I don't think this does it cohesively at all, feels like a mash of a bunch of singles rather than an album.
