Corey Taylor (Stone Sour, Slipknot)'s first record as a solo artist. HWY 666 Black Eyes Blue Samantha’s Gone Meine Lux Halfway Down Silverfish Kansas Culture Head Everybody Dies On My Birthday The Maria Fire Home CMFT Must Be Stopped [Feat. Tech N9ne & Kid Bookie] European Tour Bus Bathroom Song As a fan of Taylor's work in metal it's really exciting to get a solo record, even more so when the two songs released so far tease him exploring different genres - not just Stone Sour-lite. I love the rap-rock vibe of CMFT Must Be Stopped although I think the chorus is a bit on the weaker side - hopefully the rest of this album delivers.
it's basically a WWE intro song I can appreciate Corey doing something dumb and goofy since being in Slipknot is so intense and grueling - it's probably good for his mental health to do some dumb stuff like this doesn't mean it's good but I get why he's doing it - he's a dorky dad.
being in slipknot seems like a very intense experience and time hence why they don't release albums as frequently - I'm sure the entire last cycle was very intense - he's blowing off some steam with some dorky ass dad rock
yeah i'm with drew. it's a bad song. who gives a shit. he looks like he's having fun and it's way less serious/grueling than slipknot. let the dweeby iowa boy live.
I'd add this direction was telegraphed by Stone Sour's latest album which was definitely trying to do a more humorous, light-hearted approach in contrast to both recent Slipknot material and their own double album which was a concept album based on a story written by Corey. (Hydrograd tried a little too hard with the humour IMO but I know it was popular) That might make it worse depending on your point of view, of course
Okay I don't know what I expected out of "European Tour Bus Bathroom Song" but it being a hardcore punk banger definitely surprised me Record is solid all the way through, some good guitar work, nothing spectacularly incredible but interesting to hear Corey branch out a little bit. If you don't like CMFT Must Be Stopped you can rest assured the rest of the album is very different.
