It's probably in the lower half but not bottom three. I love every song on there though. It's so beautiful.
The intro is still the main part I don't like about Lavender, it just really is jolting and takes me out of the flow after those first four songs. Even beyond that, though, there's not much I've latched onto about the rest of the song either.
Definitely agree about Lavender. But Chiromancer is a favorite. The bridge with Steff Koeppen is incredible. As for twin versions, I only really like the alternate/combined version of Like a Lie, and the alternate ending of Erase is kinda cool.
I'm listening to Ixora right now. I must say, how on earth have we been talking about it so much and not one of us has brought up "Have I Always Loved You"? Man, what an opener. And man..."Disjointed". Yeah, this album just doesn't have a misstep.
Opener's probably my second least favorite on there, haha. I still love it but it just seems like more of an intro to me than a fleshed out song.
I shall take this moral to heart. I've been crooning along with Aaron Marsh for years now and haven't tried this. No wonder I've never had a girlfriend!
I don't hear much love for it, but I think my favorite might be "In Her Arms You Will Never Starve". So simple. Yet so effective.
I love that song so much. When it came out the lyrics were spot on with something I was going through, so I think that added to it. It's a great song. Heartbreaking, bittersweet, but so good.
The distance is what you make it The distance is what you make it UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH been in too many long distance relationships and that line, that got dam line
As I've said many times, Ixora is absolutely my favorite album they've released. But I've gotta say, I still think When You Thought You'd Never Stand Out is my favorite closer.
"It's been a long two years. It's time to smile, we've made it this far. Just like you said we would." and "I hope that you can see - the strength that pulled us through was not passed onto me."
If you enjoy their stuff that much, go ahead and buy it from them? That one time profit will greatly exceed whatever Spotify royalties they'd get.
