Same. When I was in high school my best friend and I made a dumb music video to “Good Morning Fire Eater” and then “Ordinary” came out and we reunited and made a dumb music video to that. Good times.
This is probably blasphemy but Ordinary didn't really appeal to me on release and it's still my least favourite on Ixora. I like it more in context though. Only song on the album that I'm indifferent too. What a splendid album though!
I think I Can Make You Feel Young Again is my favorite, but there are 3-4 I could easily say that about. Incredible album.
Erase is my favourite Copeland song, it's just too perfect. Disjointed and World Turn round out my top 3 from Ixora.
i can make you feel young again is definitely my favorite, that song fucks me up. in her arms you will never starve and like a lie are prob my other two favs on that
Brand New aside, has there been any other comeback albums executed as well as Ixora was? It's easily my favorite Copeland release.
I can't listen to Ixora often because it brings me to a very sad place. All of their albums bring to mind a specific emotional period in my life but that album in particular is probably their darkest. Still amazing tho.
Ixora crushes me pretty hard, it's a difficult listen for me, but it's still such an incredible album
The album’s cover always messes with my head given how great of a fall album it is. That said it was my first Copeland listen and I love it, though I think it’s pretty front heavy. Disjointed’s easily my favorite off it, followed by some order of erase, ordinary, and have I always loved you.
Erase and In Her Arms You Will Never Starve are by far my favorites. Those are gut wrencing songs for me.
The whole album is pretty much ftw. I honestly can't get enough of it. Even the songs I was a bit cooler on before I'm all about: Lavender and Like A Lie.
Like a Lie is probably my favorite track. That chorus reminds me of something you’d find on an R&B track and it gets me every time.
Ixora is such a beautiful album but it always brings me to really specific memories that I don't want to have
Copeland makes me happy sad but I have no actual sad memories attached to any of their songs so it's always in a good way.
