I've seen them twice and neither show was very good at all. I know I can't be the only one who thinks that.
The band as a whole was incredible, lots of energy, they sounded amazing. It was cool to hear Jordan Butcher on drums too. The vocals... not great. He just couldn't hit those falsetto notes. Like I was stoked to hear Erase, but it ended up being super underwhelming.
I used to hear that they weren't great live or were a bit boring. I never saw them in their original heyday (wtf me??), but I've seen them on both their tours since coming back and they were very, very good (vocals included)
His falsetto is much better when playing acoustic or piano only. You can barely hear him sing falsetto when the whole band is playing.
I'm sure they've improved since the last time I watched them live. It's been at least a decade or more.
I saw them in the Now, Then tour last fall. One of the best shows I've seen. I Can Make You Feel Young again might be the best I've ever heard a song sound live.
I heard em live last year (maybe two years ago) with the full band and an orchestra and they were perfect. Vocals were on point as well
The show in December was cool but my favorite of the two was definitely on the Now, Then tour. I'd put it up there with one of my favorite live shows of all-time.
They were fantastic on the last two tours. The tour with the orchestra was fantastic. Definitely one of my top shows of all time
kind of weird to post a complaint about a band's live performance when you haven't seen them in ten years.
I mean if I've seen a band live twice and didn't think they put on a good show twice, why would I expect anything to change? but from what everyone else is saying, it sounds like they have refined their live performance over time.
Walking downtown was the first Copeland song I heard and I really loved it. At the time I thought it was an early November b side or something (this was before in motion came out so like 2002?). Definitely not a bad thing though. Still remember where I was when I heard it, driving to ocean city in my friend's car, she always knew he upcoming bands before I did ha. Now I can't get her to listen to anything new
Why not? I personally think that in the context of quality music with no other considerations, Copeland is the better band with a better repertoire.
Been listening to Copeland today. How could anyone not like Walking Downtown? I bet anyone that claims so, likes many other songs in the same range that are nowhere near as good.
Like what? I just don't think it's a good song. I think the melodies are basic and at points grating and the chorus is just baaad.
