I definitely understand Aaron's frustration. It's also not the fault of 99% of the crowd there who are courteous and paid to see them perform. If a couple assholes can get a reaction out of you, that's what they probably want. Maybe Aaron thinks if he addresses the assholes enough times, it will help future crowds behave better. We know Aaron already dislikes touring because of the grind of travel and being away from family, so he's already probably a little more sensitive than your average touring musician. I would hate to see them stop touring entirely because of a string of bad crowds.
For sure - I definitely want to ask him about it at the VIP Q and A today but may be too rude. I hope nobody pulls that shit tonight but even if they do - he should power through honestly. I think it's a disservice to the rest of the crowd to just stop playing a song because people are talking during the song I've definitely talked with friends etc during a set (usually not full on conversations or anything). I may even talk during their set tonight. I'm taking a friend who knows zero things about them so if there's a lull I would definitely ask what they think and how they're liking it etc Seems strange though that the crowds are so noisy to the point of them just stopping a song and moving on to the next
Of course I run late and miss the q and a and acoustic set pre show I did get my goodies so can share the two new songs for those who wanted it. Anyone go to the VIP set? Curious what songs he played
Haha you're here? I'm doing some work from the bar for a few minutes then running up for the set How was the VIP session?
Not to be that person, but the band specifically asked people not to share the songs and said they'd be available after the tour for streaming. *shrug*
Yeah obviously nothing's stopping anybody from sharing them but I think if someone really cares about the band they shouldn't share them.
If you ran late, maybe you missed the band asking not to share them out of respect for the VIP ticket holders on the remainder of the tour.
I thought of this afterwards, but when people scream out COFFEEEEE!!! please scream back at them, THIS ISNT STARBUCKS!!!
I've been to probably at least 100 shows and the only time I saw a band do a request was Modest Mouse. It was awful though because after they did one, people shouted every time. I especially don't get calling out requests at arena shows that have a very specific stage production
I think I'm most excited for the eat sleep repeat part of the show tonight, no lie Ixora is my favorite but that one is really close and has meant a lot to me over the years. I can remember the first time I heard it in full and where I was driving and the effect it had on me.
Ironically, one of the only times I've seen a band actually do a request was last year seeing Copeland in Pittsburgh. These guys were yelling Love Affair the whole night and during the encore Aaron was like fine and he played like half of it solo. Still annoys the shit out of me when people do that.
Fucking loved tonight. Great set. Good crowd based on what i was expecting from some comments in here.
