Someone in this world likes "Walking Downtown" more than "California". I don't believe it.

California is a great song, top 5 on the album for me. I just like Walking Downtown because it's upbeat and it reminds me of Lakeland where I went to school and lived for 8 years. I know Aaron Marsh has said its one of his least favorite songs, and I wouldn't claim it to be one of their "best" songs. I just have a personal attachment to it, as I do to most of the songs I listed.

Also, Walking Downtown has a wonderful musical arrangement of chords and guitar melodies. I can't think of other Copeland songs that sound like it, which is what makes it unique.

Walking Downtown is a good song. I'm not crying over it like most Copeland songs, but it gets my foot tapping and makes me want to sing along.

Tonight I listened to Ixora for the first time.

Oh my god. I haven't had a set of songs elicit such emotional response/connection in years. Chiromancer and Erase may have pulled up repressed feelings because I don't know that I've ever had song themselves bring me to tears.

Anyways, just an amazing album. How was it not more acclaimed. I've never felt more attune with the AP.net reviewing. This stuff made me stop reviewing my client's legal cases, get whiskey, and indulge like I was a moody teenager in old AP-outstart days more than a decade ago.

I think I was in some small form of shock when I first heard Erase. Aside from being an incredibly beautiful song, the content is very relatable for me and I always get a little choked up when listening to it. Especially the ending when he sings in the high falsetto, sometimes I just can't.

First time I heard Erase, those drums came in and Aaron went falsetto and I'm pretty certain I actually started floating

If their next album is even half as good as Ixora, it will likely be my aoty that year.

Hopefully there is going to be another album.. Ixora was my definite album of the year as well, I'll be crossing my fingers.

Also, I listened to "Walking Downtown" a few days a go exactly, and it's a great song, but not one of their best for sure haha... Now well, who's waiting for Aaron's appearance on Zealyn upcoming album? The song's getting an official release on Friday, can't wait!

I listened to like 3 seconds and it sounded great ;D Didn't want to spoil the song ;p all in all I've been enjoying everything she's put out so far, and the production from Aaron is really good, again.

There is definitely going to be another album.

Walking Downtown is the only Copeland song that is bad.

To me it's bad if you compare it with other songs of theirs, even from that same album, but it's still a good and pleasant tune :)

Yea I can't call "Walking Downtown" a bad song. Definitely a weaker track in their catalog, but not terrible.

And if it's cringeworthy at all it's only because of how good they've gotten. I don't remember listening to the song in high school (pre ESR era) and thinking there was anything wrong with it.

If that was the only song I'd heard from this band I would think it was bad. It's not just comparatively bad. Its bad.

I'm in the camp of hearing it in highschool and having no problem liking it hahh, but you guys trust your gut so much, I'm obviously mislead into not hating such an awful song ;p just kidding here, but here's an idea - let's stop debating over their worst songs and change the subject a bit. I just watched the video to "Walking Downtown" for the first time in my life somehow - and the video is actually what's really, pretty bad! ;p What are your favorite Copeland videos by the way? I remember "The Grey Man" being my favorite for most of the time.
