Here's my 15-song playlist Brightest California Coffee Choose The One Who Loves You More Love is a Fast Song You Have My Attention Love Affair The Last Time He Saw Dorie When You Thought You'd Never Stand Out Good Morning Fire Eater Suitcase Song On the Safest Ledge Disjointed I Can Make You Feel Young Again Erase
I guess I'll try this, I'm just doing the tracks in the order they appear on the record though because actually ranking Copeland songs just feels wrong. Beneath Medicine Tree: When Paula Sparks California Coffee In Motion: No One Really Wins Don't Slow Down You Have My Attention Eat, Sleep, Repeat: Eat, Sleep, Repeat Control Freak Love Afair You Are My Sunshine: Should You Return Chin Up To Be Happy Now Ixora: Disjointed Ordinary Chiromancer I will say, choosing the Eat, Sleep, Repeat songs was the hardest.
That Paula Sparks to California is still my favorite thing this band has done, I think. And this band has really only done good.
I think we can agree that the little "sleep now, moon" pause then comes back in heavy is one of the best things ever.
Yep, you know it's coming and it's always great. Hey, there's a reason they still play When Paula Sparks and never play Kite.
It was tough, but I chose what I thought were the most important tracks for each record, songs that define each record.
This thread inspired me to listen to their albums today. It's weird, each one is my favorite while I'm listening. I really do like most of their songs equally (which is a lot), and even their "bad" songs are terrific (besides "Walking Downtown," that is actually just bad). Thank you all for reminding me how much I love this band!
SpyKi's strained relationship with "When Paula Sparks" and everyone's insistence on its greatness is quickly becoming my favorite thing on this thread. My opinion is that it's a solid song. If I made a medium list it would probably be on there. But I feel pretty indifferent to making a medium list since a medium list is basically indifferent in and of itself.
Most medium Copeland songs (by album): 1. When Paula Sparks 2. Sleep 3. Where's My Head? 4. To Be Happy Now 5. Lavender (cuz the weakest song on Ixora is still medium)
Last post because triple posts are lame. Just wanted to say, I always got the words wrong in Sleep when I was younger. I always thought Aaron Marsh was singing, "Will I wake to find you eating by my bedside? Will I wake to find you eating by my side?" I always pictured his wife with a bowl of cereal munching in a chair by his bed. And I genuinely thought it was romantic.
i don't think most of BMT is good but at least it's a decent beginning to a great career, basically anything ESR on is what I listen to except for a few songs
