Yeah it was so great. Everyone walked in to the first part with the piano and started the ceremony right before the drums hit. Was announced husband and wife and the drums hit and walked out to that part.
Hot damn, Testing The Strong Ones could be in my top 15, too. BMT is flawless and I'll have none of it if you disagree!
I don't think I would ever actually do that. But there is a way to put a public warning that doesn't apply points that is super tempting so I can just be like "This is a textbook example of a bad opinion."
In two months of moderating, I've issued one warning. I'm probably the least scary moderator here. But this insubordination of Beneath Medicine Tree is not to be tolerated!
I had a difficult time choosing three songs from BMT for the 15 song thing because there's hardly three songs I like from that album But World Turn is one of my faves so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also I hated that he played Paula sparks on the paramore tour... There's this weird thing with artists where they always feel they have to play old stuff... If your new stuff is better play that! I mean he can always play the brightest bc that is a classic but when you have 8 songs don't play 3 from medicine trees
I like medicine trees but the maturity of yams, ixora, and esr far surpasses it. Also in motion is just a really special record for me as well.
I also feel this way about ESR. Copeland is weird for me because their catalogue is comprised solely of records I adore and couldn't live without, and records that on the whole do absolutely nothing for me.
I need to vent. I'm such a fan of lists and I'm always looking for the opportunity to make a list, no matter how obscure. But I feel self-conscious about making so many lists so I always hold back. So I step away from this thread for awhile and I miss an entire series of lists. To the point where people are making lists of the most MEDIUM Copeland songs. Freakin' MEDIUM lists! It's like list heaven and I've missed the boat. List of saddest moments in my life: 1. This moment. Right now.
Haha it's not too late. Do it! Only started yesterday. I don't know about the 5 bottom songs though, because come on, this is Copeland.
Not the first time I've heard that, and yeah, I totally respect that. Aaron definitely has a really beautiful way of conveying certain and specific emotions that the rest of us dopes can hardly put into words, haha. I just don't connect all that personally with that album in particular, and musically it's just not my bag. If it had to happen for them to get to YAMS, though... then I'm definitely okay with it.
Thanks for the clearance. Hahaha. I think I'll go with the "top three from each album" list. *suppresses boyish excitement* Beneath Medicine Tree 1. When Finally Set Free 2. Priceless 3. Take Care In Motion 1. Kite (crazy people) 2. Choose the One Who Loves You More 3. Don't Slow Down Eat, Sleep, Repeat 1. I'm a Sucker For a Kind Word 2. When You Thought You'd Never Stand Out 3. The Last Time He Saw Dorie (so basically ESR ends amazingly) You Are My Sunshine 1. Should You Return 2. Good Morning Fire Eater 3. The Grey Man Ixora 1. I Can Make You Feel Young Again 2. World Turn 3. Erase
