Should You Return I’m a Sucker for a Kind Word I Can Make You Feel Young Again World Turn Night Figures I actually feel good about that somehow. HM: Choose the One, Don’t Slow Down, Take Care, Eat Sleep Repeat, Careful Now, The Grey Man, Chin Up, Good Morning Fire Eater, Colorless, Waltz on Water, Everything on Ixora
People don't seem to be mentioning The Last Time He Saw Dorie. The first time I heard that "live, live, live because you love" verse and the sax outro, I had to be resuscitated.
Idk why this band flew under my radar for so long when I've known about them since the 2000's. I used to joke with my cousins because their last name is Copeland. I am so sad it took me this long to give them a chance but I have a hell of a catalog to backtrack through it seems, so that's exciting.
I legitimately can’t narrow down a list of favorite Copeland songs. I can’t think of another artist like that for me
So I went through a few runs and from ESR it’s gotta be: Control Freak, Careful Now, and Love Affair. If I’m not careful I’ll just repeat those over and over.
So you’re saying you’re so caught up in your Love Affair with those three tracks, that if you’re not Careful Now, you’ll end up manually repeating that stretch and not letting the album finish... like some sort of Control Freak?
There Cannot Be A Close Second The Last Time He Saw Dorie What Do I Know? I would request songs they rarely have played live.
When Finally Set Free I almost requested it a few years back but before taking requests he made a comment about how he tries not to use his falsetto before shows too much so he doesn’t wear his voice down so I felt bad asking for it but I would kill to hear that haha
Finally going back to Ixora, YAMS and ESR today after listening to Blushing exclusively for the last few weeks Really just a phenomenal run of records. They’re all so freaking good. Can’t wait to dig back further to IM and BMT I love how I consider those two much weaker than the rest of their discography and yet and I still love those albums so much
I remember him turning down a few requests where he didn’t remember how to play certain older, obscure songs. Doesn’t hurt to ask though! I’ll be asking him to play “There Cannot Be A Close Second” at the Pomona show in April. One of the few older songs I’ve never seen them play live.
That stupid podcast trashed that song so hard. Always one of my favorites, almost a Beatles influence on it.
