ProStudioMasters has the record in 24 bit FLAC and AIFF for $12.79 right now, if that's your sort of thing. Copeland, Blushing in High-Resolution Audio
As Above So Alone is an early favorite but I might be biased because that's one of my favorite song titles in a while.
as unqualified as I am to tackle an album this... dense? I think I gave it a decent shot Review: Copeland - Blushing | Sputnikmusic
more or less. FLAC isn't compatible with iTunes (i use JRiver so it doesn't matter for me). AIFF is compatible, but like WAV, it doesn't support metadata (album art, titles, explicit tags, etc.). luckily, iTunes will allow you to convert a WAV or AIFF file into their proprietary lossless format, ALAC (Apple Lossless, but in an .m4a file with a higher bitrate), so you can go in and add the metadata.
I skimmed the review, but nice to see the users there are giving it a good score. I can never get signed into my account on that site.. idk why.. haha but if i can figure it out I'll slap a 5 on it for sure.
I'm on listen number two now and I still don't think I can even write my full thoughts. I've seen the words 'dense' and 'layered' used several times and that is exactly what the album feels like. It's cohesive and feels like a unified album yet has so many individual jarring moments (like the end of Suddenly into Night Figures, whoa). The 22, A Million comparison is fitting. Early favorites: As Above, So Alone, where the song picks up at the 1 minute mark is so gorgeous. The back half of Suddenly, ohhh those horns and bass!
Okay, read the full review. I never views the album as one long dream but really it makes a ton of sense. Really great write up and I think you did the album good justice!
Listened to the whole thing while making dinner with the wife but don’t recall a lot. What I did hear was really nice, some cool R&B moments and a saxophone. Looking forward to taking some time with it later this weekend
the first verse of skywriter when that little backgroud "oohhhhh ahhhh" comes in, love that melody. Skywriter may be one of my favorite tracks
thank you so much, it's a pet theory of mine but I don't expect everyone to agree with it haha. thankfully we all agree this album is fucking fantastic hell yes, loved your mwY review!
Jakarta is the #3 city that listens to Copeland the most on Spotify. Seems...interesting? 1. LA 2. Chicago 3. Jakarta 4. Dallas 5. NYC
