Welp. There goes $40 on a random Monday evening vinyl impulse buy because I have no control andiwasdoingsodamnwelltoo.
I stopped getting notifications for this thread so I’m just here to say that colorless is incredible. I think I have already said that but I thought it was worth saying again.
Honestly have a feeling this record will sound incredible on vinyl. All the strings and horns will be great.
Finally listening to Ixora again after trying in 2015, disjointed and chiromancer are absolutely incredible and the programming on this is out of this world. Not 100% connecting with the melodies but I’m def gonna spin it more. And then blushing Friday so ayyy
“You’re still a breeze upon my skin. Close my eyes, breathe you in...” that moment gets me no matter how often I play it
That whole verse is huge for me, too. "But you didn’t know my name, now I.../I can’t help this awful feeling that I can’t erase you..."
Definitely not ready to say Blushing tops Ixora and not sure I will. But this is easily the most layered and ambitious thing the band has ever done. It’s just a huge accomplishment.
I've never been a huge Copeland fan outside of YAMS, but this is really good. The first song vaguely reminds me of Illuminate era Lydia
First impressions are very good - Can see it being an album that needs to be digested as a whole rather than dipping into single tracks A part of me wishes that Aaron's vocals weren't so smothered in effects all the time - but i'm sure i'll get over it!
1. Pope 2. Suddenly 3. As Above, So Alone 4. Strange Flower 5. colorless But I promise it will change multiple times today. Also Erase is perfect. It flows so well, and it builds perfectly. I always thought Ixora ebbs and flows like the waves on the cover art and Erase is the perfect representation of that.
