It’s great and “dreamy” is a perfect word for it. There’s a lot of space for the instruments and vocals to explore and every now and then things ramp up to nightmarish cacophonous moments but then things even back out. It’s another achievement in the bands catalog and just further cements then as one of my favorite bands
Yup yup yup this is exactly what Copeland should sound like in 2019. So happy they went in this direction
Feeling like I’m hearing ESR for the first time. Look, their last album was amazing and a perfect way to come back after a hiatus, but THIS is post-hiatus Copeland
I’ve never cared for this band but this comment has earned them a listen from me when the new lp is out the notion of any album even touching Spirit of Eden seems impossible but I’ll give it an open minded listen
mostly a sonic comparison not a qualitative comparison! not sure anything is as good as spirit of eden or laughing stock
I’m definitely not ready to say that, as my love for YAMS knows no bounds, but this certainly feels the most like a singular experience. This album is a journey.
Its tough to say right now. This album is definitely quite a trip. I think in the end, Ixora will still be my favorite, but Ill have to digest this over the next few months
